task
The original roof on the hospital building was failing. The existing liquid system was in poor condition, insulation was saturated, causing water to leak internally creating disruption to hospital activity. As part of its comprehensive asset management programme the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust required a new water proofing system to be installed as well as adding edge protection.
approach
The Central team recently stripped back two existing roofs with a combined size of 3,437m² and then installed a new 25-year guaranteed BMI Icopal Reinforced Bitumen Membrane System.
solution
As well as a new waterproofing system being installed, we supplied and installed new outlets and rainwater goods. The roof was also fitted with a specialist lightning protection system. For health & safety reasons and to aid future maintenance, we also installed 2 Pro-Guard Freestanding guardrails with fixings and access gates.
